I am just curious on the name, first time I am hearing this name...

its Kiravani. ragam based on of hindustani definition. in carnatic is might come under shankarabaram family. ennakku romba theriyathu..
of-course illayaraja used this ragam in some movies, varshum 16 movie has one song..
appuram kanada based music directory named kiravani. he scored some good numbers
eg) sridevi-arvindswamy movie forget the name MD done by kiravani
few songs of vedham pudhiya rendered by kiravani.
